The Writing Traveler: Why not send us your favorite travel stories?
January 4, 2021
I don’t want to write my favorite travel stories alone. I want you to showcase your favorite moments in travel as well.
As a new year begins, I am launching a new series on our Website.
I call it “The Writing Traveler.”
I will have at least one column each week about places I’ve been and people I’ve met.
Some will be historical.
Some will be recreational.
On some, I will merely reflect back on a day I don’t ever want to forget.
But putting the story on paper allows me to capture it forever.
I don’t want to write my favorite travel stories alone.
I want you to showcase your favorite moments in travel as well.
We have a place for you.
Write the story between 250 and 1,000 words, and I will showcase the story on our Website.
During the year or at the end of the year, we will produce an anthology, a collection of our travel stories.
You may be a professional writer.
But you don’t have to be.
There is no right way to write a travel story.
There is no wrong way.
Just tell your story from the heart.
All you need to do is look back at those memorable moments in your life and write them down.
Those memories may be long.
They may be short.
Only one thing is important.
For one frozen moment in time, they happened.
They happened to you.
Don’t lose them.
Don’t let those moments fade with time.
Write them down.
And if you have a lovely photograph, you can email it to me as well.
Send your stories and photos to me at firstname.lastname@example.org, and I will publish them.
We all find a certain joy in writing.
And travel is the one thread that binds us all together
I have discovered that many of my most memorable memories came when I was traveling.
In the Caribbean.
In a foreign country.
Just down the road apiece.
It made little difference.
Let’s all share those moments with each other.
You like visiting a certain place?
Tell me about it.
I may travel there.
I will probably like it as well.
But without your story, I might have never discovered it at all.
My collection of memorable travel stories can be found in Confessions from the Road. Please click HERE to find the book on Amazon.
