The O’Rourke Crime Novels of R.C. Carter and J.P. Carter

Cutting-edge technology meets classic detective fiction as the O’Rourke team is drawn into a web of murder, mystery, and suspense.

R.C. Carter says, “My wife and I have both had a lifelong ambition to be authors. For me, it began with my love for JRR Tolkien’s writings, especially The Hobbit. For my wife, it began with her love of the writings of Isaac Asimov and Agatha Christie.

“For the past forty years, we have been busy with careers, raising children, and watching grandchildren grow. Through the years, we have been involved with small theatre groups. Many of the skits and plays we wrote ourselves or in collaboration with others.

“We now live four hours away from our children and their families. So, we find ourselves with some free time. We decided if we were ever going to write a book it had to be now.

“We also love paranormal investigating. We have investigated many sites on our own. We also enjoy going on ghost hunts with Ghost Hunt Weekends led by Chad Morin and celebrity guest ghost hunters.

“Ideal Events is also another favorite ghost hunting experience for us. We’ve investigated in private homes, Ft Mifflin, St.Augustine Lighthouse, Sloss Furnace, and Moon River Brewery.

“We also love to travel and cruise.”

Cutting-edge technology meets classic detective fiction in this thrilling, often humorous escapade. Ryan and his team are drawn into a web of murder, mystery, and suspense.

While they investigate the death of Ryan’s best friend, the danger of 3D technology is exposed as a scientist goes rogue and pulls out all the stops to cover his tracks.

Review by Garrard Hayes:

The O’Rourke Detective Agency is on the trail of a murderer. The investigation leads to 3D printing and biotechnology that is being used for engineering human organs. The only problem is that a dangerous ex-employee has stolen plans and is eliminating everyone who knows.

This well-crafted novel takes readers on a whirlwind ride after a brutal killer and a group of detectives that are chasing him down. Plenty of twists and turns will keep the pages turning and you’ll be guessing until the very end.

I immediately felt at home with old friends, with awesome character development and fast reading banter. I thoroughly enjoyed BioPrint and highly recommend it. I can’t wait to read Book 2 in the O’Rourke Agency series.

Flash Zombies

This entertaining, suspenseful and often humorous novel will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next.

The O’Rourke team is brought in to investigate a theft from a high-end jewelry store and an alarming disappearance of narcotics at a local hospital.

It’s a fast-paced, action-packed story. Follow the team through hair-raising twists and turns as they outwit the Chicago Mob.

Review by TMBorgwardt:

Once again I am thoroughly impressed by this well-written mystery. I love Ryan and his team of investigators. The Carter’s do an excellent job of composing a compelling and thrilling private detective series that always has a unique flair or twist.

This particular story was incredible as the detectives had a couple of different cases that they were working on that eventually intertwined. The detail and knowledge that flows onto the pages regarding being a private detective and the new advances in technology are well thought out and detailed enough that I was able to visualize the equipment they were using.

It was nice to see the characters develop even more and the relationships evolve and deepen. The storyline is engaging and is a true page-turner. There is plenty of action, some violence, some brewing romance, and of course some mystery to keep you interested.

Excellent job and I can’t wait to read the next one!!!

Clone Drones

This high octane thriller has it all; murder, Mob revenge, political intrigue, a little romance, strong male & female characters with a storyline that could be tomorrow’s headline news.

The O’Rourke team is called in to help solve a nationwide plot involving the assassinations of several US Senators.

Will they succeed?

Review by Tod Retired:

This is the third book in the O’Rourke Crime Novels. In this adventure, Ryan O’Rourke and his team of investigators are busy trying to save themselves from a threat out of the past. They also find themselves deep in a conspiracy where multiple high-ranking government officials are being assassinated.

As usual, the reader does not have to read the prior novels to enjoy this book, but reading them does give additional insight into the characters and their past.

This book is well written and the characters continue to evolve. From start to finish the reader is taken on a journey of mystery, intrigue, and adventure.

The fact that the authors are husband and wife tends to make the writing of this book unique and gives the book a special quality not often found on books written by a single author. The dual perspective of man and woman adds to this book and makes it more enjoyable.

From the moment you pick this book up, you won’t want to put it down until you are finished.
