Go inside the literary mind of J. Edwards Holt on an archived edition of the Meet The Author Podcast at Indie Book Source, hosted by Rob and Joan Carter.
Born in North Carolina, United States, J. Edwards Holt always knew that he wanted to be a writer.
After graduating high school, he attended college and pursued a degree in education, but later decided to change course and follow his dream to become a novelist and children’s author.
Now a bestselling author, ordained minister, and mental health advocate,
Holt spends his free time reading and helping the less fortunate in his community.
He is passionate about spreading Christian messages through his writing, watching science fiction and superhero movies, and collecting comic books.
Long ago, an evil wizard rose to power and waged war on mankind.
Few were willing to stand against the dark wizard, and those that did fell.
Desperate and determined to save his people, a king named Astilles traveled to a realm called Barrenworld, where he found the Warlord’s Chalice, an ancient cup said to give infinite power to those who drink from it.
Believing himself to have no other choice, Astilles drank from the chalice and gained the strength to defeat his enemies — but that strength came at a great cost, as the chalice only granted it in exchange for eternal servitude.
Eventually, the story of Astilles faded into legend, until centuries later the chalice would return to claim its next victim.
Three decades after returning home from the adventure that made him famous, the legendary dwarf treasure hunter O’balin Undur has gone missing.
Many have presumed O’balin to be dead, including his old friend Bindle, the aged and worn mayor of Mountainside Village.
After receiving an urgent letter addressed specifically to him, Bindle sneaks out of town to visit the home of an old friend;
There he is greeted by a surprise guest who claims to have seen O’balin alive, searching for a mysterious stone called the Summoner’s Gem.
Middle-aged and tired, but still craving adventure, Bindle leaves behind his home and family and embarks on a quest to find his long-lost friend.
Along the way, Bindle forms lasting friendships, travels to new and strange places, and finds himself face to face with a wizard in an encounter that will forever change his life.
Peace turns to chaos in the Mountain Realm when a great evil threatens to destroy the kingdom of Danamor.
With their king gone, having mysteriously vanished, the dwarves of Danamor struggle to maintain their peaceful way of life.
It seems that no one, not even the fallen king’s trusted followers, is able to unite the divided and leaderless kingdom.
One day, an unsuspecting young dwarf named Dwobble finds himself caught in the middle of the political conflict, but not before embarking on a journey that leads him to learn great truths about his family’s past.
Along his journey, Dwobble encounters fantastic mythical creatures, forms an unlikely friendship with a living legend, and is ultimately faced with a life-changing decision in the epic final chapter of J. Edwards Holt’s “Little Men, Big Treasures” trilogy.
