An epic saga of love, sacrifice, friendship, and discovering the hero within set against a background of time travel and supernatural forces.
The dark shadow cast by an ancient prophecy shatters an innocent family, but all that is broken is not lost and will rise again.
Half-blood sorceress, Talia, had a unique childhood. Instructed in combat skills and trained to escape detection, she was schooled to face an unknown menace.
Yet, when her family’s worst nightmare comes to pass, Talia finds her protected life spinning out of control. Everything she believes in, and everyone she loves, is cruelly snatched away.
Talia is forced to flee the attentions of a mad king and denied her supernatural legacy. She chooses the path of retribution, devoid of love and friendship, but learns that sometimes love is received even if not sought.
Broken is a tale about Talia’s coming of age, reuniting with her family and seeking vengeance. Most of all it chronicles Talia’s rise from the ashes and her journey into finding herself again.
Meet Ivy Logan
I am a realist but at the same time also a dreamer. To me, writing is the window to my imagination, which also collaborates with my glimpses of the world around me. The beauty of writing lies in the mind’s eye – what we see, the way we interpret it and finally how we translate it to paper. This gives me immense joy.I try to imagine myself as a reader, I read what I’ve written aloud. And if I am bored, I discard it and start again. It takes a lot to make me happy and I will keep at it until I am satisfied.
Compromise is not a good word where storytelling is concerned.
I am extremely passionate about stories especially those steeped in mythical folklore, ancient myths, and legends and suffused with the magic of unique realms and supernatural worlds. I believe there is an alternate universe where magic, mysticism, and wonder still exist, a world where no reality is impossible. Discovering ourselves is an ongoing journey. When I write about these worlds, I become a part of them and learn more about myself each day.
I write about girls and women with flaws and their lives. My characters are not the most beautiful, not the bravest, not the thinnest nor the richest. They find strength in their family, in their love. My girls do not compete against men; only circumstances and the challenges they throw up.
Reading feeds my soul. I don’t think it is possible for me to write if I would not read. Reading takes me into other worlds and I need that.
Growing up, Enid Blyton was my favorite author and although that list has a lot more names in it, she will never grow old. She still lives in my heart. I read Enid Blyton even now.
The first real story I ever wrote was about a princess who traveled through time to the future to save a ten year old child. The two of them end up rescuing each other. That story was never completed and after I finish the Breach Chronicles, it is one of the stories I hope to
Review by George Yuhasz:
I have read this book twice and will surely read it again because it gifts something of value each time. This extremely well-written fantasy is a fascinating creation of parallel worlds featuring human and supernatural beings who exhibit an array of captivating magical powers.
I delighted in the narrative style of the author, refreshingly original and quite pleasing.
Author Logan makes it easy to become enchanted by this well-paced journey chock full of intrigue and several twisty turns of events encouraging readers to remain in a state of high alert.
The central characters, Tania and Caitlin, are appealing, compelling, and memorable. Expect to become personally involved while cheering them on. There are lessons to be learned from this beautifully crafted story. Young adult or senior citizen, BROKEN has something for everyone.
A significant takeaway for me was the reaffirmation of being able to pick up the broken pieces in your life and recreate something even stronger and more resilient. I am looking forward to reading the sequel to this gem and being exquisitely entertained by this very talented author.
