Deadly Call by Martha Bourke
Sensual and intense, the new breed are more passionate, and if it’s possible, more gritty and exciting! Ms. Bourke gives us another fantastic books with more wonderful characters to fall in love with.
Deep in the shadows of Boston, Massachusetts, the Order—a secret brotherhood of New Breed warriors—is all that stands between a takeover by shifter supremacists.
Diesel, the most charismatic of the brothers, exudes a love for life all the while carrying a terrible burden. A veteran of the Iraq War, he is haunted by the traumatic events of a single night. Poisoned by shame and certain he is cursed, Diesel fears he is a danger to everyone around him.
Helen, the Order’s stunning and gifted surgeon, has a few demons of her own. Even as she and Diesel give in to the deepest pleasures of the mating call, something still holds her back. Destiny threatens to divide them, until, in the midst of unimaginable tragedy, they must banish the ghosts of the past to save their future.
Review by E:
Deadly call was a great second installment to the New Breeds series. It picks up right where the first book ended, but with new and enjoyable characters. I really enjoyed Diesel and Helen’s story.
I personally really enjoyed Helen’s character, but I’m biased because I love characters with a background in medicine. Helen is a surgeon and Diesel is a haunted veteran. Both were described equally with great detail that enhanced the books storyline.
Not only was the love story entertaining, but the supporting characters are compelling as well. I really enjoy how Martha bounces from different characters perspectives throughout the story. Overall, another great read!

The shifters are back and it’s not business as usual. There is something going on and a secret brotherhood has decided to find out what. While on duty, the secret brotherhood finds there are supremacists causing problems.
The thing is, they are shifters too. They seem to be different but no one knows just how different. It will take time, but the brotherhood will find out why they are here.
Sensual and intense, the new breed are more passionate, and if it’s possible, more gritty and exciting! Ms. Bourke gives us another fantastic books with more wonderful characters to fall in love with. You’ll want this book in your library!
I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because I felt like a part of the story!

Well. Deadly Call was another amazing book from Martha Bourke. It covers the New Breed as their war against the hellion wages with more violence and anger when it becomes personal- Hellion-come New Breed James is torn when he discovers his best friend is now his enemy…and so is Troy when his secret obsession is stolen from in front of his eyes.
The drama doesn’t stop there – but I won’t ruin the surprise. Just expect lots of laughter, love, sex and fighting between a book that started with shifter and has evolved with events that happened thanks to teenagers and has only improved with time (Jaguar Sun and Jaguar Moon).
I love these books and always, always look forward to the new books coming out. The hint for X and Troy finally finding their mates is exciting too! This isn’t 5/5. This is 100/100! Well done and write the next book please!
