Authors Showcase: Into the Paranormal

The Book (Screenplay): A Good Man

The Author: Vanessa Morgan

The Story: Loved Dexter and American Psycho? Then you’ll love A Good Man. Louis Caron is a good man – vegetarian, he feeds the homeless, takes care of animals and is concerned with the ecological future of the planet.

But his altruism has a sinister edge – he’s a vampire – and local detective Taglioni is becoming increasingly suspicious. Louis’ attempt to escape the police will take him on a journey into his own private hell where he is not only forced to

confront his worst fears, but also to destroy the lives of those he cares about most.

A Review by Kipp Poe Speicher: I received an advance copy of Vanessa Morgan’s new screenplay A Good Man to review. The story is now in preproduction with a French production company and after reading the screenplay i’m anxious to see the movie.

The screenplay opens with you meeting a help support group that turns out that they are all vampires. Let me just come right out and say these are not the vampires that sparkle. These vampires deal with a whole different side of the myth of their nature.

The main character is Louis he has been a vampire since 1750 and his main problem is that he was 55 when he was transformed into a vampire and that is the age he will be forever.
Louis is finding his life to be a very lonely way of life. Other than his need to feed upon the humans he still feels his need to bound with someone and he just is not finding it.

The screenplay is very engrossing I could not wait to see what was going to happen next. Some great characters that Vanessa brings to life and will make a great film. The ups and downs of really being a vampire and an inspector hot on your trail of blood.
The screenplay has a nice blend of described violence and suggested violence. I give it a fun Five star rating. I look forward to this coming to life on film.

Just remember Karma can really bite.

The Book: Fearless

The Author: Tawdra T. Kandle

The Story: Tasmyn Vaughn didn’t expect much when her dad’s job moved them to a small town in Florida; it was just another new school.

But there is more to King than meets the eye, and soon Tasmyn’s ability to hear other’s thoughts is the least of her worries. Entangled in a web of first love, quirky and secretive townsfolk, magic and blood rituals, she discovers the town’s secrets aren’t just bizarre, they’re deadly.

A Review by Phaedra Seabolt: So if you are interested in reading a light paranormal romance, this is definitely a good book for you. I say light paranormal just because there aren’t any vampires, werewolves, or other shape shifters. That’s not to say that there won’t be further along in the King Series, but this book does not contain them. It is strictly an empath and witchcraft. This is definitely a great book for your teenagers if they are into the paranormal.

The Book: Breathless

The Author Tawdra T. Kandle

The Story:  Tasmyn Vaughn is not having the senior year she expected. Her boyfriend Michael leaves for college, she’s being stalked by a suspicious preacher, pursued by the hot new boy at school and blackmailed by her chemistry teacher–who just might be a witch.

Tas needs all of her many talents–and a little help from unexpected sources–just to keep her head above water. . .literally.

A Review by Lisa Markson: My thoughts on the book Breathless by Tawdra T. Kandle can be summed up by saying this title is perfect because it did in fact leave me breathless. This is book two of the King series following Fearless. Tawdra effortlessly brings us back into the lives of Tas and Michael like we have never been parted. Tas is forced to let Michael go away to college although she will be in left in King to finish out her senior year of high school.

Also she must part from her best friend Anne who goes away to college with her boyfriend. She feels so lonely cause she is left with Cara the crazy Reverend Pryce’s daughter who is saying things in her mind that gets her upset. She has a friend in Amber who knows her secrets and that she can trust. She finds that her old science teacher Ms. Lacusta is back with a agenda that forces Tas to lie to everyone she loves the most, but will it ultimately hurt her in the end. Could the manipulation change who she is. Also starting school this year she must start school with Rafe Brooks who is a newly planted replant to King he is from the original King carnie people.

What is Rafe’s intentions will he help or harm Tas? I won’t tell you, but you must run out and get your copy and I can tell you that you won’t be disappointed. Tawdra gives a great ending to the story much like they do on a TV series. She walks you over to the cliffs edge then tells you to look down and gives you a vision of book three, Restless, the whole time you are screaming NO, NO don’t let me go I can’t stop now.

I for one am going to have a very hard time with the wait for Restless to see what decisions Tas will make concerning Ms. Lacosta and how that will affect her and Michael. Thank you Tawdra for giving the privilege of continuing along with you and Tas.
